Notice of Special General Meeting | Sunday 15 February 2015

29 Jan

CHELTENHAM OLD GIRLS’ ASSOCIATION INC

NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

Notice is hereby given of a Special General Meeting

to be held at

The Epping Club

on

Sunday 15 February 2015

at

2.30pm

for the purpose of passing a special resolution to change the Constitution
and replace it with a new Constitution.

RATIONALE

Cheltenham Old Girls’ Association was incorporated in 2003 using the then current Model Rules provided the Office of Fair Trading in NSW.

In 2010, a revised set of Model Rules was legislated and this clarifies some issues which are not clear in our current Constitution, particularly the dates of our financial year and more specific rules re governance of the organisation.

It has been recommended to us by Fair Trading that we need to adopt the complete new Constitution and the committee is happy to recommend this.

We urge all members to read and assess the new Model Rules and these can be found at www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au.  Look for the tab at the top labelled “Co-operatives & Associations” and then in the grey box on the left hand side go to “About the Constitution”, then “Model Constitution”.

We propose to adopt the new Constitution with specific provisions applicable to our Association.  To obtain a copy, please email jgleadall@bigpond.com.  A hard copy of the new Constitution will be available at the meeting on 15 February 2015.

YOU MUST BE A FINANCIAL MEMBER TO VOTE ON THIS MATTER.
