COGA Update | Winter 2013

30 Jun

A lot has happened since February, when we held our much anticipated and hugely successful event “Oh Teacher, Where Art Thou?“. Many past teachers enjoyed a good catch up with past students, as well as seeing their old colleagues, over a magnificent afternoon tea supplied by the COGA committee.

The event was such a huge hit that we are seriously considering turning this into an annual event. So if you missed out on the February event, stay tuned for more details for next year’s event!

Speaking of events, our next big event is the 2013 COGA Annual General Meeting, to be held on Sunday 11 August. We will be electing a new committee on the day, so if you are keen and interested to contribute towards this amazing group, please come along to the AGM. On the day, you will be treated to a wonderful afternoon tea, as well as an exclusive guided tour of the Macquarie University Museum of Ancient Cultures. Our very own Philippa Metcalf conducted the same tour at our February event, and it was the highlight of the day, so make sure you don’t miss out!

The other big news is we have just published our latest Newsletter! If you are a paid-up COGA member, you should have received your copy by email. Members who have not provided us with an email address should receive their Newsletter in the post before the end of next week. If you haven’t received the Newsletter via email, please check your “Junk Mail” or “Spam” folders – our email may have accidentally ended up in one of these folders.

The Winter 2013 Newsletter is a bumper edition, filled with interesting news and important dates for you to remember. There are a couple of events coming up, such as the CGHS P&C Trivia Night at which COGA will be hosting a table, as well as the CGHS Annual Presentation Day.

You can now access the Newsletter via the Members Only section. This section is restricted to Members Only and requires a password to access the information. Please email us at for the password.

We strongly discourage Members from sharing the password with non-members. We will be posting to this page information that all COGA Members have paid their membership fees to access. Sharing the password with non-members defeats the purpose of having a restricted, Members Only section.

We hope to see many of you at the AGM this year, and show off the fantastic venue that is the Macquarie University Museum of Ancient Cultures!
