POSTPONEMENT NOTICE | COGA Event: O Teacher, Where Art Thou?

28 Oct

COGA wish to advise that the inaugural Teachers Event, to be held on Sunday 18 November, will be postponed until early 2013.

After working tirelessly for much of this year to organise this event, we were advised this week that the venue (Staff Common Room at CGHS) is no longer available on the date. We were also informed that the NSW Teachers Federation has organised a Community Day of Action on that Sunday, and as CGHS and all its staff support this industrial action, no one would be available to open the school for us.

With such short notice, we have not been able to secure another venue, and as such, we have decided to postpone the event. On the up side, this will give us more time to make this event even better, time to get in contact with more ex-teachers, and for all those interested in attending, more time to organise their plans to come and enjoy some afternoon tea with us.

We do hope you will be able to join us once we have set a new date.

COGA Event: O Teacher, Where Art Thou?

18 Oct

Have you wondered what your old CGHS teachers are up to these days? Well, so have we!

COGA has tracked down some of these teachers (past principals, head teachers and faculty staff), and invited them to a casual afternoon tea so you can hear all about their lives after CGHS, and share fond memories of the school.

Details of the event are as follows:

Date: Sunday 18 November
Time: 2pm to 4pm
Venue: CGHS Staff Common Room, Cheltenham Girls High School, The Promenade, Cheltenham
Cost: $5 for COGA members, $15 for non-members (includes 1-year membership to COGA)

Limited tickets are available due to the size of the venue, so pre-purchasing your ticket is strongly encouraged. We accept payment by cheque (made out to Cheltenham Old Girls Association and sent to PO Box 1594, Macquarie Centre NSW 2113) or by Direct Debit / EFT Transfer (BSB: 659000, A/c No.: 668862).

Please come and enjoy an afternoon tea with blasts from the past!
