Update from COGA

10 Nov

We apologise for being a bit quiet lately. We have been busy doing lots of things behind the scenes!

On 18 September, we held our Annual General Meeting, which saw the COGA Committee elected for 2012. Welcome on board Philippa Medcalf and Margaret Perry, and a warm welcome back to Jenny Gleadall, Marilyn Kell, Tara Boyd and Gloria Hill.

A delightful afternoon tea was served on the day by the Technological and Applied Sciences students. Attendees were also given a personal guided tour of the school. Overall, it was a wonderfully successful day.

Since the AGM, we have been busy preparing the next edition of our newsletter, which is now available to COGA financial members and associate members. Those of you who have paid your annual membership fee of $10 should be receiving the newsletter either by mail or by email in the next few days. The newsletter is a Members Only privilege, so if you would like to receive the newsletter, simply become a financial member by completing the membership form, and return it to us by email (cheltenhamoldgirls@gmail.com) or by mail (PO Box 1594, Macquarie Centre NSW 2113). Membership fees can be paid by direct debit (account details are on the form) or by cheque or money order.

In other news, the CGHS Presentation Day is fast approaching. The event is being held at the Sydney Opera House on Friday 9 December, and this year is all the more special as it marks the 50th year the school is performing the Hallelujah Chorus. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from the school, and if you mention “Cheltenham Old Girls”, the school will be sure to seat you with the other Old Girls who are attending on the day.

That’s all for now. Hope to see a few of you at the Presentation Day!

I have just received my copy of the current newsletter and just wanted to say it is excellent! I loved reading about the new committee…and speaking personally it was wonderful to realise that I knew 3 of the committee at school! But, it was just great and SO very helpful to know now the events planned for 2012…sure helps in planning! I hope to be able to attend some of them! So, good work to whoever put that newsletter together!

So pleased to find cghs has a great web page. Also pleased to see that we are also on factbook. I attended Cghs from 1958 to 1961, yes an original pink elephant. Great memories of my time at high school. I am still in contact with many of the girls in my classes. I had lunch a couple of weeks ago with 2 friends and am going to do it again this week with 2 more friends. Sue Madigan(nee Clayden).
