Calling for Nominations for 2012 COGA Committee

30 Aug

Elections for 2012 Committee will be held at the COGA Annual General Meeting, in conjunction with the afternoon tea function on Sunday 18 September. We would love to see some new blood on the COGA Committee bringing fresh ideas and renewed energy. You can be on the Committee and still participate in all the meetings via Skype, so distance and attending meetings in person are no longer an issue.

Nomination for positions closes on 1 September – that’s only a couple of days away. If you would like to be part of the Committee, please forward your nomination to us by email (cheltenham_old_girls@hotmail.com or cheltenhamoldgirls@gmail.com).

COGA Event: 18 Sept 2011

14 Aug

On Sunday 18 September, COGA will be hosting an Afternoon Tea and CGHS School Tour on the hallowed grounds of our beloved school.

The tour will commence at 2pm, with current CGHS teachers and students conducting the grand tour. You will be able to see how far the school has come since your school days and inspect the new buildings and facilities that are now available to the girls.

Afternoon Tea will be served in the School Hall, which will be catered by CGHS students studying Technological and Applied Studies (TAS).

The event is FREE, but for catering purposes, we require your RSVP to the event by no later than Friday 9 September. Please let us know if you are able to join us by email (cheltenham_old_girls@hotmail.com or cheltenhamoldgirls@gmail.com).

The event will also double as COGA Annual General Meeting, where the 2012 Committee will be elected. We would love to see some new faces on the Committee, and with meetings now being held via Skype and most communications being made electronically, you can be based anywhere in the world and still be part of the COGA Committee. Nominations for positions close on Thursday 1 September, so if you are interested, please email your nominations to us at cheltenham_old_girls@hotmail.com or cheltenhamoldgirls@gmail.com.

We hope to see many of you at the first COGA event for 2011!

COGA Needs YOU!

4 Aug

COGA needs you!

Do you remember the gift you got from Cheltenham Girls High School during that final tearful Year 12 assembly? It might have been a spoon, or a key ring, or a pen, or a badge. What you might not know is that COGA provided those gifts to all the girls, and have been doing so for years.

We would like to continue this grand tradition and give a treasured momento of the greatest years of school to future Cheltenham Girls.

Here’s where you can help. By becoming a member of COGA, we can be assured that there are sufficient funds to continue purchasing these gifts for future generations. Membership is only $10 per year, and can be paid by direct debit or by cheque. Your membership fee will not only go towards the Year 12 gifts, but will also be used for awards for Years 7 and 8, as well as the prestigious Citizenship Award that is presented every year at Speech Day.

If you are interested in becoming a member, simply download and complete the membership form, and return it to us by email (cheltenhamoldgirls@gmail.com) or by mail (PO Box 1594, Macquarie Centre NSW 2113). Membership fees ($10 per annum) can be paid by direct debit (account details are on the form) or by cheque or money order.

Your support is greatly appreciated. We hope to see you at future COGA functions!

Wow! 40 years since high school. Now that’s worth celebrating!

With the help of the wonderful Mrs Suellen Lawrence, Acting Deputy Principal of Cheltenham Girls High School, we are now linked to the official Cheltenham Girls High School website. Click here to go the COGA page, and then feel free to take a tour through the CGHS website.

We are now working tirelessly towards the COGA Afternoon Tea / CGHS School Tour being held on Sunday 18 September from 2pm. We are blessed to have the assistance of the Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) department to provide the catering for the afternoon tea. What a fantastic opportunity for all the attendees to sample the wares of the talented girls studying Food Technology! Remember, the Afternoon Tea is a FREE event – come one, come all! We hope to see you on the day.
